Taxonomie[]
- Glyptodontopelta wurde erstmals von T. L. Ford (2000) benannt. Sein Typ ist G. mimus.
- Er wurde der Stegopeltinae von T. L. Ford (2000) zugeordnet.
- Er wurde als nomen dubium Ankylosauria von M. K. Vickaryous et al. (2004) zugeordnet.
- Er wurde der Nodosauridae von M. E. Burns (2007) zugeordnet. Diese Zuordnung wurde von M. E. Burns (2008), S. E. Jasinski et al. (2011), H. E. Rivera-Sylva et al. (2011), V. M. Arbour et al. (2014), S. E. Jasinski (2015) und V. M. Arbour & P. J. Currie (2016) bestätigt.[4]
Arten[]
- G. mimus ist die einzige bekannte Art dieser Gattung. Sie wurde 2000 von Tracy L. Ford beschrieben. Das Art-Epitheton kommt aus dem griechischen und bedeutet so viel wie "nachahmen".[3]
